Viru Keemia Group (VKG) that produces oil from oilshale has begun testing new technology in Canada.

Janek Parkman- Chairman of VKG- said last week to Äripäev that the new technology is called Alberta Taciuk Processing or ATP.

"ATP technology enables us to process oilshale more efficiently and reduce environmental impact-" said Parkman.

He explained that Canada has extensive knowhow and experience in processing oilshale.

In the spring VKG shipped 20 tons of oilshale to Canada to test how Estonian oilshale performs with new technology.
